The Hitching
Post is nestled between the high mesas just outside Kenton, Oklahoma
at the far western tip of the panhandle. The legendary Robber's
Roost and Coronado Rock are just 'up the road'. Visitors will
experience life on a working ranch, a ranch that has been in our
family since 1886. The Ranch was previously owned by an English
Syndicate. Out here there is always fence to fix, calves to brand
and cows to move and feed. We do all of these chores the old
fashioned way which sets us up to provide quality, family style
hospitality. If you are 'itching' for a good time, or would like
some much needed "down-time" give us a call or send us an email! We
invite you to join us in a true old west experience in Black Mesa
Country.
You
may just want to come for a rest and use our quiet lodging. We have
a clean and comfortable trailer home (sleeps 5). In Kenton we offer
a log cabin (sleeps 6) and next to the cabin is a Bed and Breakfast
(sleeps 11). Each unit is fully furnished, including the kitchen.
Basic lodging for one person starts as $45 plus $10 per person per
night depending on the unit. Bed and Breakfast starts at $50 plus
$10 for 2nd person per night - 1 bed. $20 per person per night
thereafter.
You
can also relax in the original
ranch house and have breakfast on us. There are two separate
bedrooms and one bathroom. The cost begins at $50. Extra meals may
be arranged. Call for a price quote on your planned stay.
Lodging is included
in your stay while enjoying our working ranch. If you would rather
do your own thing while here, please consider us for your lodging
needs. Call us for more information on our package option or lodging.

By
reservation the Hitching Post will also cater groups of any size. A
tour of the interesting sights around Kenton area and meals may be
arranged. Please call if you are interested in bringing a group and
having the Hitching Post host your stay.
